Paitin Barbera d'Alba Serra 2021

Serra is the name that the Paitin family has long used as a diminutive from the cooler and less steep side of the Serraboella, historically voted for great Barbere. More evolved, richer, less draining soils, in a more closed but rather cooler valley, give rise to wines with a composed character, full but never opulent, balanced in freshness. For several years, the Serraboella barber groves have also flowed into the Serra, but those of a plot of the hills in the Rivoli area of Alba have also minimized. At the sight this Barbera is bright and intense ruby red in color; the nose expresses hints of red fruits, floral notes of roses and flavors of sweet spices. The sip is medium-bodied, soft but well balanced by an acid vein and a consistent tannic texture. Perfect in combination with cold cuts and delicate first and second courses based on red meats and pork.
