Palacio Quemado Reserva 2019
Palacio Quemado
Spain- Ribera del Guadiana
A few kilometres outside Mérida, in the municipality of Alange, is the Palacio Quemado estate, which is the Alvear family’s new venture in the lands of Extremadura and from where, under the Ribera del Guadiana denomination, it aims to offer quality wines tempered by the nobility of the wood. This is an exemplary Reserva, and the fruit for the wine was picked perfectly ripe; it then underwent a long, careful maceration and ageing in oak.
The wine is an intense cherry colour, dark and bright. The nose releases an aroma of ripe red fruit, with notes of tobacco and cedar wood. On the palate it is generous and full, with hints of ripe red fruits and elegant tannins.
Aged for 12 months in new American oak barrels and subsequently in bottle until completing 36 months of ageing.
