Sió 2021

Since 2000, Sió has paid tribute to the winery's grandmother, after whom it is named, with a coupage principally containing old vine Mantonegro (60%). It's accompanied by 25% Syrah, 10% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, which bring structure to the ensemble. An elegant, fruity and profound wine, with the mineral background supplied by the vineyard's chalky soils.
Having a powerful and complex nose, the dominant aromas in its bouquet are of ripe black fruit (sloe and plum), underpinned by mineral, spicy (nutmeg, cinnamon, cocoa) and balsamic notes. On the palate it appears fresh, balanced, with sweet and velvety tannins, and exhibits a great variety of nuances typical of the Majorcan terroir. Ideal for accompanying grilled meats, roasts, stews and red meats, cured cheeses and Iberian ham.
