Moscatel de Alvear wine is an exquisite example of the winemaking tradition of Montilla-Moriles, located in the province of Cordoba, in southern Spain. This winery, one of the oldest and most respected in the region, has been recognised for its mastery in winemaking using mainly the Moscatel grape.
Moscatel de Alvear is characterised by its natural sweetness and aromatic complexity. Visually, this wine has an intense golden colour, with bright reflections that capture the light and anticipate its richness. The appearance is clear and luminous, inviting you to discover its hidden treasures.
On the nose, the Alvear Moscatel displays a range of intense and enveloping aromas. Notes of ripe fruits, such as peach and apricot, accompanied by floral nuances of orange blossom and jasmine, which bring freshness and elegance. In addition, there is a slight touch of honey and toasted almond that further enriches the bouquet.
On the palate, this wine is a delight due to its perfect balance between sweetness and acidity. The texture is silky and almost unctuous, with a palate that replicates the fruity and floral notes perceived on the nose. The sweetness of the Moscatel is complemented by a well-integrated acidity, which means that the wine is not cloying, but refreshing and delicious until the last sip.
Moscatel de Alvear is ideal to enjoy as an aperitif or with desserts, especially those that include fruits or creams. It is also an excellent companion for blue cheeses, where the contrast between sweet and salty enhances both flavours. With a potential for bottle ageing, this wine can be enjoyed young or after some years, offering an interesting and complex evolution in aromas and flavours.
