A delicious, fresh and elegant, rosé Champagne, made by a small Bouzy producer, whose wines it's easy to fall in love with from the very first glass.
The Clouet family, winemakers with a long-standing tradition in Champagne, are to be found in the small town of Bouzy, in the southern part of the Reims Mountain, and their vineyards, 9 hectares in all, are classified as Grand Cru, a category which few can lay claim to.
Their rosé is made solely from one of the world's most noble varieties, the Pinot Noir. Factoring in the high quality of the vineyard, the composition of the calcareous-clay soils, such delicately fine grapes and the consummate care they receive from this family, it's not surprising that the result is a wine that's so delicious and seductive, a combination of fruitiness and floral notes, with an exquisite texture, fine bubbles and a background of refreshing minerality. It's a rosé that has great balance and a delightful evolution over time; a good reason to keep some bottles by, ready for celebrating an unexpected important event or making a romantic dinner extra special. Its excellent personality makes it ideal both as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to delicacies and major dishes, from smoked meats, carpaccios, seafood or caviar, to meat casseroles, duck or game.
