Brancaia Toscana Rosso Ilatraia 2020

Ilatraia is a typical Bordeaux blend, but with an unusually large space for Petit Verdot (40%), combined with Cabernet Sauvignon (40%) and Cabernet Franc (20%), which rests half in new and half in used barriques. It is dark ruby red and moves slowly, showing excellent concentration. The nose is dark, compact and penetrating; the notes that make up the heart of the bouquet (blackberry, blueberry, plum, black cherry and cassis) are expressed with precision and intensity. Ilatraia smells of small black berries ripened under the scorching sun but there is also a fine spice, echoes of leather and tobacco as well as balsamic hints and an intriguing vegetal background. The flavour is rich and complete: warm, tannic and fresh. Well-proportioned, it caresses the palate with its velvety texture, leaving a happy memory that lasts for a long time. A muscular and sensual red, appreciated by critics all over the world.
