Château Haut-Batailley 2019 is a Bordeaux wine that retains the classic Pauillac character but speaks with a modern voice. The Cazes family (known from Lynch-Bages) took over in 2017 and gave this winery a new lease of life – more precision, more elegance, more vitality.The 2019 vintage is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, which gives it structure, a long finish, and subtle tannins. The aroma is blackcurrant, graphite, soft cedar, and elegant oak. The taste is concentrated but not heavy. There is depth, but also balance. This is a wine that is already enjoyable now, but can age quietly for decades.This Haut-Batailley is not a powerful giant, but a quiet gentleman with inner strength. It is perfect for dinner with a steak, but will shine just as brightly on its own when you want to enjoy the grandeur of Bordeaux without pomp and circumstance.
