D.Chignard Fleurie Les Moriers 2022

If we could describe Fleurie with a single wine, Les Moriers would be a good candidate. From vineyards located right on the edge of Moulin-à-Vent, this 2022 D. Chignard cru Beaujolais wine has both softness and seriousness.The base is Gamay, but not just any Gamay. Here it is dense, clean, with a bright aroma of cherries, raspberries, and flowers, especially violets. The taste is subtle yet lively, with a slightly spicy character, subtle acidity, and silky tannins. This is the kind of wine where one glass often turns into a second. And a third.The Chignard family works this plot naturally, with respect for the land, and the wine is aged traditionally in large oak barrels, without any additives. The 2022 vintage brought excellent maturity with retained freshness – this is a Fleurie that can be both an elegant aperitif and a serious dinner companion.It goes well with lamb, roasted poultry, even tuna or mushroom risotto. Or – chilled, with a friend and a cheese platter.
