Detrás de la Casa Garnacha Tintorera 2021

Detrás de la Casa is a selection of the best wines which were not included in the final blend of Viña al Lado de la Casa, and the decision was taken to bottle them separately due to their singular nature.This wine shows a great intensity of colour, with deep tones reminiscent of dark cherries. It is very dense and almost opaque, and plenty of tears can be seen sliding gently down the inside of the glass. Right from the start, the nose appears intense, with spicy wafts on a cushion of damp earth. After letting some air in, red fruits come through (strawberries and raspberries) at the just ready stage, without becoming overripe. The initial impact on the palate is of great intensity, although this gradually calms down as the wine passes through the mouth. The tannins are well combined with the red fruit and sarsaparilla notes, while on the finish there might just be the suggestion of incense.Aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels.
