Finca Antigua Syrah 2019 is a robust and elegant red wine produced by the Finca Antigua winery, located in the Denominación de Origen La Mancha, one of Spain's oldest and most extensive wine regions. This wine is a single varietal Syrah, a grape that adapts exceptionally well to the arid, continental climate of La Mancha, offering a unique expression of this varietal.
The 2019 vintage was characterised by a climatic balance that allowed for optimal ripening of the grapes, reflected in the quality and character of the wine. Finca Antigua Syrah 2019 was carefully fermented and then matured in American and French oak barrels for a period of 10 months, a process that gives it remarkable complexity and a well-defined tannic structure.
Visually, this wine presents a deep, dark red colour with violet hues. On the nose, it displays an intense aromatic range, dominated by aromas of black fruits such as blackberries and plums, accompanied by spicy notes and a slight hint of vanilla and chocolate, the result of its ageing in barrels. On the palate, Finca Antigua Syrah 2019 is powerful and full, with a firm entry and a mid-palate where ripe fruit flavours combine harmoniously with soft tannins and balanced acidity. The finish is long and lingering, with an aftertaste where spices and cocoa come back to the fore.
This wine is ideal to accompany roasted red meat dishes, complex stews and cured cheeses. Its robustness and elegance make it an excellent candidate for cellaring, and it can evolve favourably in the bottle for several years.
