Marqués de Riscal Reserva 2019

In each bottle of Marqués de Riscal Reserva there exists a history, in fact the history of La Rioja's oldest winery, and the one which was already conserving the largest number of bottles back in the 1920s, when no other bodega had started to store its wines. They were pioneers at Riscal in the production of modern wine back then, following the techniques employed in Bordeaux, and they continue today to be right out in front. Most definitely, an excellent winery. The grapes used for producing this wine mainly come from vines of the Tempranillo variety, a grape which supports ageing in oak very well, thanks to its balanced acidity and fine tannicity. The small contributions of Graciano add freshness and a touch of colour to the blend. This appears to be the magic formula by which the Marqués de Riscal Reserva has established the norms of Riojan classicism, due to its freshness, finesse and its great elegance, as well as its excellent ageing potential and its huge versatility when serving with food.
