Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut

With its original yellow label, Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label is not only one of the best and most well-known non-vintage Brut Champagnes, but also an emblem of the style and quality of the legendary Maison Veuve Clicquot. An excellent Champagne faithful to the traditional spirit of the region and the distinct personality of Madame Clicquot, the "Grande Dame de Champagne", who built up the winery when she took over the family business in 1805. Ever since then, the maison has been known and admired for its top-quality Champagnes and at present has twelve Grands Crus and fourteen Premiers Crus providing excellent fruit for their production. Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label is made from 30-45 % Reserva wines mixed together with vintage wine produced using grapes from between 50 and 60 different crus. Pinot Noir is the principal variety used and gives the Champagne the structure Veuve Clicquot are known for, while Chardonnay brings the elegance and delicacy so essential in a perfectly balanced wine and a little Pinot Meunier (15-20 %) rounds off the blend. Its lengthy ageing process (at least 36 months for Yellow Label) delivers silkiness, freshness, a wonderful structure and an intense fruity sensation. A Champagne that never fails to delight, it makes for an ideal aperitif or the perfect partner for a delicious meal.
